An Update from the Conference in Charleston

Charleston. And where can Robbie, Skye, Candice and Jaime be found in Charleston?

Not doing the Charleston, of course - though I suspect Robbie would look quite fetching in late-'20s attire, don't you?

These lucky four met up in Charleston, South Carolina - with former lab-mate Catriona, collaborators and friends like Mike Angilletta, Brandon Cooper, and Eric McElroy (among others) - for the 2012 Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology conference (SICB).
This year's conference ran from the 3-7 January in the beautiful South.

So this is what they might have seen, were the convention centre not so distant from the main (fun) part of town ...

Alas.
So, then, where are we to find our intrepid scientists?
Surely not sitting on the streets eating pizza ...

No, no. Of course not. Scientests are way more posh than that.
Maybe imbibing brews in warm pubs, then?

Definitely not. Scientists don't like beer. It kills off their Very Important brain cells.
So here then.

Ah yes. Here. In dark and sombre talks. Learning about the inner workings of animals and trying to stay awake.

And giving talks of their own with somewhat-croaky voices.
Though, I'm not sure why ...
